Alphabetically Speaking - "Y" Not?
Without doubt the most successful Y was Dave Younghusband, a programme nightmare when trying to put his name in as a tactical substitute! but a great rider all the same. Began his career with Middlesbrough in 1962 and subsequently moved to Halifax when the Bears relocated there for the first BL season in 1965. Was a pivotal part of the Dukes league and KO Cup winning side in 1966. and a GB team member touring Australia in 1968/69. Cradley tempted him out of retirement with a short ill fated comeback in 1974
Martin Yeates had a career spanning 16 seasons from 1972 until 1987, starting and finishing with Poole. His most successful times were with Weymouth in the early 80s . one time Silver Helmet holder .
Bob Young is best remembered for his time at Rayleigh/ Rye House from 1971 until 1975.
Jim Yacoby was never a star but was a valued member of the Belle Vue team throughout the 60s and was in the 1963 NL title winning Aces team, their first post war league title win.
